Gamer Unleashed and Fantasy of the Month Discussion

Gamer Unleashed and Fantasy of the Month Discussion

With the Blog slowing down because I'm basically just rehashing content on other sources. I have decided to keep this Blog as a Monthly instead of a Weekly or Bi-weekly thing.

But that doesn't mean I won't have interesting things to discuss on here!

This month I want to discuss a Gamer topic you've seen on other articles before. The taboo of the Consoles and why PC is the Master Race. I'll go over ideas on what Consoles can do to catch up to the Master Race and explain what these terms mean for casual gamers and those who don't understand what I am talking about.

This Month's Fantasy Discussion goes to a movie I'll go into deeper detail with on the Youtube Channel.

Ducktales

Before you say anything. I know!

Ducktales isn't exactly what you call Epic High Fantasy.

But it IS technically a Fantasy type of Fiction.

I grew up on the old 80s-90s show and the theme is stuck in my head even today. It has been on my mind for weeks now and I've been dying to get back into it.

When I learned that Disney was planning a reboot of the series for Modern Audiences, I nearly flipped out.

I was two years late to the party and when I saw the first Episode (free on Disney XD's youtube channel) I felt immediately 15 years younger.

They did NOT mess this up! The animation feels like a mix of the classic and the new. The only major change was the addition of Donald Duck to the cast, but that is easily forgiven because he is such a beloved character.

Disney! If you EVER read this Blog! Reboot Rescue Rangers, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck, and Goof Troop as well!

Revive the classics and inform today's audiences why the Mouse is your Mascot!

Gamer Rant

Today I ran into a wonderment that I wondered many a time before: why isn't the PS4 or the PS3 backwards compatible to the PS2?

This is one of the major reasons I have not bought a PS4. I do not like the non-backwards compatibility here. I have an extensive PS2 library, and yes. I do still play my old PS2 games often and I'm still in the market for buying new PS2 games I missed during the PS2's run.

There is a reason the PS2 was one of the BEST SELLING CONSOLES EVER MADE!

The PS3 rereleased alot of PS2 classics on the PS3 in bundles and in the PSN's Playstation Store.

I can forgive the PS3 for that. But the PSN's Store does not have NE-HE-HE-HEARLY enough titles to make it a good collection!

Old PS2 classics that didn't have a long run on shelves that can't be played on the ps3 and ps4 means if you DO have a PS2 game that you can't buy in HD, you're stuck needing a PS2 to run it!

I'll give you an example: Xenosaga 3.

Xenosaga 3 is a Japanese RPG that had a short run outside of Japan. It was MonolithSoft's last farewell to the franchise due to the bombing Xenosaga 2 gave it. I enjoyed Xenosaga 2 for the story but I agree with the critics. I did NOT appreciate the Combat System.

There are a limited supply of Xenosaga 3 games. And when you configure many of these copies were in the hands of small kiddies when they were first bought. Today they have loads of scratches and some parts of the game skip.

I purchased my copy 4 years ago for FOURTY DOLLARS. Used! Do you know what the price is today? Nearly NINETY DOLLARS Used!

Why? I might be able to shed some light here. MonolithSoft was eventually picked up by Nintendo and the team behind Xenosaga was split apart. Nintendo re-released Xenosaga 1 and 2 (But NOT 3) for their Nintendo console the 3DS. I highly recommend picking that up.

But what about Sony Fans? Will we ever get a Xenosaga 3 HD port? Sadly your best bet anymore is an Emulator on the PC and running a ROM of Xenosaga 3.

This takes me back to backwards compatibility. PS2 consoles are getting more and more limited as they get older and older and begin to break down. Retro gaming is alive and strong and most RPGs from the PS1 and PS2 era have aged REALLY well. Dark Cloud, Dragon Quest 8, Xenosaga trilogy, the .Hack games, Rogue Galaxy, and more!

PS1 consoles are in even LESS supply! If someone wanted to play a PS1 game, there's an EXPANSIVE PS1 classic library and I will not hate on Sony for that. The PS1 library is extensive but it's still missing some old beloved Games. Croc 2. Crash, etc. (though Crash has been remade for the PS4).

The PS2 library on the PS3's PSN especially is painfully small. Under 70 titles.

I believe the Developers DO get a cut for every purchase off the PSN. So I can't understand why they wouldn't add more titles. Developers do NOT get a cut for a Used Game purchase from say, GameStop.

If there is one thing I do not understand it's cutting profits. If you have a product and there is a DEMAND for that product. Then why not keep a supply of said product? If there's not much of a demand to have hard copy versions, then add your game to the Console's Online Digital Store. It costs you little to nothing to have a game on the Digital Store so what is stopping you from making profits off classic games? Licensing? Well, let's talk that actually.

Nintendo Owns Monolith for example. Monolith under nintendo doesn't have the whole Team behind Xenosaga. So what did they do? They started making Xenoblade Chronicles. To this day that series is Nintendo and I think PC only.

I am not that big of a fan of Nintendo. So fans of say the Xbox and the Playstation miss out on products made specifically for Nintendo consoles. I do understand the need for Exclusive games, it gives people an incentive to purchase that console for that game. But Monolith is a company that made games for other consoles, thus you should not limit Monolith's games only to Nintendo.

Buuut. That's just my old wounds. My main biggie is Backwards compatability. What I honestly think is that they should bring back Manufacturing of old games and consoles.

Amazon KDP has a similar thing for Paperbacks for authors. They charge and manufacture based on who purchases it.

For example. If nobody's buying. It's not being manufactured thus you don't have to pay a manufacture cost to have a copy until someone purchases it. The cost to manufacture is included in the purchase price thus the developer does not LOSE money!

If factories that made games picked this up for their discontinued products such as the retro consoles. They could fix the economy for these games and bring back consoles for gamers from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.

How would that work?

Well, say for example Sony Owns the PS2. Say you want a PS2. You go directly to Sony and purchase one. The price to manufacture a PS2 is included in the price of purchase plus a little for their profits. Thus they do not lose out on money. This could work for video games too. Whoever owns the license to any game title can have an online shop where you purchase a game that they own, which the price to manufacture said game is included in the price of purchase.

No one loses money, and consumers are happy.

This makes alot of sense, doesn't it? We can bring back the classics and save alot of money and developers can only stand to GAIN from this. Instead of not making money because they discontinued a product and only used versions are sold, you can now make money buy recontinuing older products for an on-purchase only basis!

Anyways. That's all for my rant today. This blog was pretty short. But every monthly will have one of these discussions plus a Fantasy story of the Month that I'll fill you guys in on.

To find Ducktales, check out Disney XD!

To find Backwards Compatibility on PS3 and PS4 consoles? Start a riot in front of Sony HQ demanding it.

That's all, folks. Take care, and I'll see you on my other social media!

Blogverse Terraverse

Hello everybody!

Welcome to the next edition of the Blog!

This one's a short one for you. I don't have too much to tell you that I've not already told you somewhere else.

But let's just say we're nearly there to meeting our 80 page goal for this week and I want to get back to it to make sure I keep it up.

Next week's plans are the same as the this one's. Get that book out! But we have new information for you that you might find of importance!

Did you know my book will be FREE starting Monday and will remain FREE until the end of Wednesday?

This is a twice a year deal that you'll DEFINITELY want to get behind if you haven't picked the book up yet. I really hope you give it a chance.

All I ask after you pick the book up if you take it during the free period is to leave a review on my Amazon Product Page letting me know what you think.

Book 2's Progress is going well! I DO plan to make sure to get ALL THREE books plus the BONUS book before this year is out! So be on the lookout for that!

Podcast Episode 3 just went out this week. Normally from now on whenever we have a Podcast that will be the week when we DON'T have a Blog post.
Content on the Youtube Channel is coming along nicely. Despite our lack of quality equipment, we're doing well in my opinion.

Next week we have another Terraverse Vlog/Bad Egg Review. Nev might even have another LP for you to enjoy, so look forward to that as well.

Once book 2 is out I plan to do a small bit of marketing after a one week break. Then I'll get right back into it for book 3.

No play for the Author! Just writing writing writing!

I WILL make a career out of this! Just you wait!

Keep on being AWESOME, people. And to anyone who picked up a copy of the book this week, thank you so much! Every purchase really helps me out!

Take care, guys!

Blog 6! The Friday Edition!

Hello everybody and welcome to the Friday edition of the Terraverse Blog!

This shall be a short one for today I've just got some housekeeping to go over and then we can close up shop for the day.

To start off, I hope you guys had a good week. Are you ready for the weekend?!

This week has been filled with all sorts of things. I posted my very first vlog (You don't get to see my face just yet, folks. But I have one of my hands!)

If you'd like to take a look at my vlog. You can find it right here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z-_invkR4c

While you're at it, I'd really appreciate a subscribe to the channel for it really helps us out.

I can't stress it enough. Support for us basically equals better quality for future content. That's about as simple as I can put it. Most of the money is going to be going into better equipment, better software, new computers to run said software and just an overall better experience.

Rome wasn't built on dreams alone. It needed investors and an army!

But enough of that.

Vlog Talk and Confession:

Let's talk about the vlog. I show only my hands in it so I don't know how some of you might feel about that. It's a bit longer than what I'd like to see but I basically had two parts to that vlog. The first is my introducing you to this new style and the second is the first 'review' of sorts.

All of these reviews will be mainly discussion based with no actual footage taken from the product due to it being copyrighted. There's a long wormhole of red tape and regulations that needs to be done before I can LEGALLY put all of that stuff up, despite these videos being used for noncommercial purposes.

The first one AGAIN has that annoying background noise playing! You must forgive that. I can't remove that when recording video and audio. When it's audio only Audacity can remove it.

The next one? The next one will be better. All I need to do is turn everything but my voice and the PC off! Haha! Yes! Yes. We'll do that.

No, no but what I will confess is that I suffer Tinnitus in my left ear and must have some form of noise going on at all times in order to cancel the sound out. That is why you hear what you hear because silence will cause the roar in my head to intensify.

But I DO have an idea. I can use an earbud playing classical music (I hear it can help mask it for a time) in my left ear off of my ipod while I do my vlogs. That way I can turn off the sound machines and any other external noise so we can keep this looking professional.

So! At least the mystery of the crickets has been solved!

I hope you can understand my predicament. You think those crickets are annoying? Imagine a sound that goes on and on in your head nonstop that fluctuates in pitch and volume at completely random times that you can't control.

Imagine this type of horror NOT HAVING AN OFF SWITCH. That is what I have to deal with everyday, possibly for the rest of my life until a cure is found.

No wonder I'm crazy, right? Fun fact. If you go COMPLETELY DEAF. You'll still hear tinnitus. And you won't be able to mask it with white noise! Now THAT will be true torture.

Next Week:

Next week I'm going to try dedicating almost ENTIRELY to writing the next book. I have a goal of 80 pages to do. Once I do all 80 pages. The book should be ready for editing. I just have to write the end sections.

I'm moving slow through this one because I don't want to make as many mistakes as I did in the first one. As the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race. Especially if you put Tar on the bottom of your opponents' shoes so they can't move whilst you walk happily and slow as you like through the course and win the race!

No, no. But we'll be getting content up and ready soon. What about a paperback cover? I'll be working on the back-cover blurb over the course of this month and I should have a cover ready for you before March.

Expect Book 2 to be out sometime before April. That much I can... ALMOST guarantee.

Big Thanks to all of you guys who supported me by getting a copy of the book this week. You guys are AMAZING.

It's because of you guys that I'm able to keep doing this. I mean it. It really helps me out.

Until next week, guys.

Podcast next week, too! That's some good stuff!

Take care and Keep on Keeping On.
